SCALING SAFER SURGERY

Start small.
Expand on demand.

Accordia Surgical is developing a radially expanding access sheath: one access site that begins at a small profile of 6F (2 mm) and opens to the diameter each procedure needs up to 24F (8 mm), with less trauma to the vessel.

Radial expansion, without sheath exchange

THE CLINICAL NEED

Larger holes and more device exchanges can increase complications.

Every endovascular procedure starts by placing a sheath, a working channel into delicate anatomy. Reaching the diameter a device needs today means progressively upsizing the access site, one exchange at a time. A larger hole size and repeated device exchanges can increase vessel trauma and complications.

“We’re always looking for a device that can create smaller holes.”

EVERY EXCHANGE ADDS RISK

In 878 transfemoral TAVR patients, both a higher sheath-to-femoral-artery ratio and more than two large-bore vessel entries were independent risk factors for access-related complications.

OUR PLATFORM

One access site. The diameter you need, when you need it.

Our port radially expands, giving clinicians full instrument utility with less trauma, while saving the OR time and cost of sequential upsizing.

Upsizing without exchange

Expand at the access site instead of swapping progressively larger sheaths.

Safe vessel access, reduced damage

Start at a small profile and open only as far as the procedure requires.

Clinical workflow compatible

Designed around how interventionalists already work, across the large-bore range.
